About Me

I’m an experienced biomedical researcher who studied and worked at Imperial College London and currently, am retained as a visiting Postdoctoral Researcher at the College. I also worked as an occasional associate lecturer in Biomedical Science at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. I started my science journey in Biomedicine in 2008 in Cambridge

My achievements so far includes:

A Science and Technology Foundation course passed with Distinction.

A First Class pass for my BSc (Hons) degree specialising in Biomedical Science.

A Masters in Research degree passed with High Merit.

A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree completed as part of the prestigious MRC DTP Research Scheme.

Multiple research placements at various Higher Education and Research Institutions.

Clinical research and an internship at the Cambridge University Clinical Trial Unit.

During this period, I have completed many laboratory research projects, writing reports, essays, dissertations, a PhD thesis and co-published journal articles, presenting posters and presentations and a 5 month clinical observership in the NHS.

Prior to 2008,  and after completing a Bachelor of  Commerce (BComm) degree in Industrial Psychology and Economics, I worked and trained in the financial, banking and business sectors as an executive management trainee and later as a  management consultant specialising in Human Resources, Change Management, Organisational Development and Business Process Improvement Initiatives. This spanned a period of 13 years.

I have maintained active links within the academic and commercial sectors through my continuous participation as an alumnus to the organisations listed below, which includes the University of Johannesburg – one of the top universities in Africa; Imperial College London – consistently ranked in the top 3 in Europe and top 10 globally; Accenture – a global Fortune 500 technology and consultancy firm; EY & PwC – 2 of the Big 4 global accounting firms that offers professional services such as auditing, advisory, assurance and consulting.

I learned many painful lessons through trial and error and in the process mastered practicing perseverance, resilience, focus, sacrifice and work ethic. These are some of the traits I want to foster and develop in my clients through a partnership agreement.

My focus is more than just academic excellence, it is also helping scholars find their passions, build resilience and confidence and a determination to face any challenges and find ways to deal with and overcome them. Failure is merely an opportunity to learn and grow.

This has been a theme throughout my life and I hope that I can inspire and motivate learners that it is ok to fail as long as it’s treated as a learning experience! Success is possible, no matter what your circumstances.
